Each holiday season, the Optimist Club of Delavan lights up the community with its beloved Christmas Gift Drive—a tradition rooted in compassion, generosity, and the spirit of giving. Dedicated to supporting children from families experiencing financial hardship, the drive ensures every child receives a meaningful gift and a moment of holiday magic.

The effort begins with thoughtful collaboration among Club members, local schools, churches, and social service organizations to identify children in need. Volunteers are then matched with anonymous wish lists, purchasing gifts that reflect each child’s unique interests and needs. Monetary donations are also welcomed, helping the Club fill gaps and extend the joy even further.

But this initiative is more than a seasonal gesture—it’s a reflection of Delavan’s enduring values. The Gift Drive unites neighbors of all ages, strengthens community ties, and reminds us all of the power of kindness.
